Healthy Eating

We aim to ensure that meal times are a happy, relaxed and social occasion. The children are encouraged to develop their independence and social skills by helping to lay the table and serve themselves and by helping each other. Staff regularly eat with the children to act as role models for social skills, good eating habits and to encourage children to try new foods and tastes.

We strive to provide health nutritious meals with choices that all children enjoy eating. We are committed to providing good nutritious food, which is essential to your child’s continuing good health and development.

Every meal is carefully planned to meet healthy, balanced nutritional guidelines and is freshly prepared and cooked on the premises each day by our cook. Fresh fruit and vegetables are served everyday and children are encouraged to try new tastes.

Vegetarian meals and special/religious diets are no problem and if your child has a food allergy or intolerance, we’ll accommodate it with an alternative menu.

We like to know if parents and carers think we have got things right for your child just as much as we like to know if we can make any improvements and welcome comments and input from you relating to our menus.
